CONSULTING

Companies increasingly rely on contractors to support their own project teams with gas turbine projects ranging from feasibility studies to modifications of existing units.

We offer comprehensive in-house expertise in areas such as:

  • Equipment evaluation upgrades
  • Project engineering assistance conversions
  • Systems and controls engineering
  • Repair/maintenance engineering
  • Relocation projectsTroubleshooting

SPECIAL ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS
There are numerous options based on extensive special projects experience that enable us to provide customized solutions.

With nearly 50 years of accumulated knowledge and expertise, we troubleshoot and deliver solutions for both on-base and off-base systems and components, control systems, maintenance and repair.

UPGRADES
We have the necessary experience and know-how to develop solutions that precisely meet your requirements. We also keep abreast of advances in technology and potential changes in Customer requirements. This capability allows us to improve on initial designs and manufacturing, but also helps you make the most the most of your existing equipment.

Applying new technology does not necessarily involve making major changes to the basic structure of the gas turbine. Minimal investment can often result in a whole range of performance improvements. Along with enhanced improvement and efficiency come significant reductions in operational and maintenance costs.
Substantial fuel savings, up to 50% less frequent inspection intervals, and as much as 30% reductions in maintenance and repair costs, deliver substantial savings and increased machine availability. In addition, enhancing existing systems reduces the need for new plants and equipment plus all the associated costs.

CONVERSIONS
We offer a comprehensive range of engineering techniques for converting virtually all existing GE-type, heavy-duty gas turbines currently in operation. Conversions can involve full upgrades, but just as often they focus on improvements in specific areas such as reliability, maintenance, efficiency, performance, full or partial changes to the control system, and fuels and emissions.

SOME OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT INNOVATIONS INCLUDE:

  • A Digital Control System retrofit for greater ease of operation and increased reliability
  • Innovative hot-gas-path components, using durable high-tech materials which permit higher firing
temperatures that create greater efficiency and thus higher output as well as longer intervals between inspections and thus lower maintenance costs.
  • Emission control in order to achieve lower NOx levels
  • Fuel system changes to facilitate the use of alternative fuels.
  • New compressor upgrade packages increasing turbine output to existing units, enhancing inspection intervals and improving turbine availability and reliability.
